※Child as he is，he can be able to read and write.

※The radio was able to be repaired.

※The bus is able to seat seventy people.

※He is quite able to make mistakes.

※The pupil is able of finishing his homework by himself.

※He is (very) able.

※He will be unable to finish it in three hours.

1.be able to应避免与can重复使用。例如：

Child as he is，he is able to read and write.虽然他还是个孩子，但能读会写。

2.able 后面常跟动词不定式的主动式。be able to 的主语一般不能是物，不能接被动的动词不定式。应试时应遵守这条规则。例如：

They were able to overcome the difficulties.他们能够克服困难。

一般不说：※The radio was able to be repaired.

应改为：The radio was capable of being repaired.
