Legs may be either shell type or truss type. Shell type legs may be considered as either stiffened or unstiffened shells. Legs may have individual footings or may be attached to a bottom mat. Legs are to be designed to adequately resist the anticipated total elevated loads and environmental loads for all elevated modes of operation. Leg scantlings are to be determined in accordance with an acceptable method of rational analysis. Calculations are to be submitted for review.
