苏格兰诗人。可能曾在牛津和剑桥大学学习，到过意大利和法国，后在坎特伯雷等地当过修道士、牧师和教区长等职。1552年6月10日在萨里郡的克罗伊登逝世。
巴克利最有名的诗是《愚人船》 (The Ship of Fools of the World) (1509)，系根据德国诗人塞巴斯蒂安·勃兰特的作品改写的。
